Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Gather Games (“Gather”, “we”, “us”), an iOS app published by Kelvin Bui. Bundle identifier com.gathergames.app. This policy explains what Gather does and does not collect, who else processes data on our behalf, and the choices you have.

Short version

• Gather has no servers, no user accounts, and no login.
• We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data ourselves.
• Two third parties process limited data so the app can work:
  • Apple — handles your in-app purchase (Gather Lifetime).
  • Google AdMob — serves ads in the free tier, including a few standard identifiers and approximate location.
• You can disable personalized ads at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or via the consent prompt that appears the first time you see an ad.

1. Data Gather itself collects

None. Gather is fully offline. Your game state, settings, custom player names, fridge notes, prompt selections, and language preference are stored only in the iOS app's local storage on your device (UserDefaults and the app sandbox). Nothing is ever uploaded to a server operated by us.

We do not operate any backend. We do not have a database. We do not maintain accounts.

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed by iOS.

2. Data processed by Apple (StoreKit)

When you purchase Gather Lifetime, Apple processes the transaction on its own infrastructure. We receive only a non-personal transaction identifier so the app can verify your entitlement. We never see your name, email, payment method, address, or Apple ID.

3. Data processed by Google AdMob (free tier only)

In the free version of Gather, ads are served by Google AdMob. AdMob is the standalone data controller for ad-related data; we are not. Through AdMob, the following may be processed:

• Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) — only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) — a per-device identifier scoped to this app.
• IP address.
• Approximate (coarse) location derived from IP.
• Device information — model, OS version, language, time zone, screen size.
• Ad interaction data — which ads you saw, taps, viewability.

AdMob uses this data to serve ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and (when you consent) personalize ads.

Lifetime users see zero ads and no AdMob SDK calls are made on their behalf after purchase verification.

We do not share your data with any other advertiser or analytics vendor. Gather does not embed Facebook SDK, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any other tracker beyond AdMob and its required attribution components (SKAdNetwork, which is operated by Apple).

4. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

The first time the app launches, Gather presents Apple's ATT system prompt. You can answer “Ask App Not to Track” to block IDFA access — ads will then be contextual (less relevant) instead of personalized. The rest of the app, including Lifetime purchase and all gameplay, works identically either way.

You can change your answer at any time: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Gather Games.

5. Children

Gather is not directed at children under 13. The Truth or Dare “Funny” and “Party” packs contain mature humor; the App Store rating reflects this. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Data retention

We retain nothing on our infrastructure because we have no infrastructure. Apple retains purchase records per its own retention policy. Google AdMob retains ad-related data per its own policy.

8. International transfers

Apple and Google may process the limited data described above on servers located outside your country, including the United States. Both companies maintain Standard Contractual Clauses and other transfer mechanisms required by GDPR and equivalent laws.

9. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where required, prompt you in-app the next time you open Gather.
